Belly button discharge

The other day I noticed that my belly button was wet. I gently swabbed a Q-tip around to find out the problem. The Q-tip came out with a bloody like substance on it. It wasn't straight blood. It looked dilluted (like when you accidentaly cut your self and you stick it under the water to rinse it off, and the water mixes with the blood, making it look dilluted). Since then my belly button hasnt bleed any more, but it is still having moisture in it and it has a foul odor. I'm trying to figure out what might be wrong.
