Concerned significant other

Hello, I just had balloon uterin albation and a DNC done.  I had little pain until two days later and got very ill.  When I woke up the doctor had no release information and prescribed me Tylenol with codeine.  Two days later I was in the emergency room with a bad fever, severe constepation, and very very weak.  I still have occasional sharp pain and soarness.  I am having bad headaches now and hot flashes.  After the surgery I had the cold sweats so bad that had to wash my sheets.  The er doctor gave me fluids through iv and antibiotics and dioxycyclene.  Can anyone help me or possibly give me a reason why so miserable still.  It has been 8 days since the procedure ?  Is there an antibiotic other than what prescribed that does not have so many side effects?  They prescribed me Cipro now after the other one caused so many problems?  Is this going to cause the same side effects?  Thank you

you could possibly have an infection in the uterus. Take your antibiotics. this procdeure usually only has 1-2 days recovery time.... if no improvement by monday, go and see your doc

It sounds like you had some kind of infection going on...and since you had an ablation in your uterus AND a D&C, that is most likely the source of the infection. From what you describe, I'd be more inclined to think your bad symptoms came more from your beingj so ill and not the Doxycycline...thought any medication you take can give you side effects...and yes, even the Cipro. If it was me...I'd take that Cipro just like it was ordered and til it was gone...or you can end up in ICU. IF you take it and have bad side effects, call the doctor and tell her/him.
