Cushing Syndrome????

I just recently went to the doctor thinking that I had something wrong with my thyroid. I have gained over 45 pounds in less then 10 months. I am extreamly tired all the time and I have sever mood swings. I thought for sure that it was my thyroid. I got my blood test result this morning and my thyroid came back normal. There is something wrong with me. I am in the navy so it is hard to get doctor to test for things. I starting doing my own research and all of the symptoms that I have are consistant with Cushing Syndrom. I also read about the treatment and I am scared. I want to know if anyone knows anything about this and if anyone knows anything about ways to help me lose the weight I have gained if I have this. Thank you

Have you been exposed to excessive amounts of cortisol?  It is possible your own body is producing way to much cortisol, but this is an extremely rare disease and those are about the only ways you get it.  You should find out if there is a test for that.

You should have a complete physical with a chem screen also.

This is the Ovarian Cancer forum and I can't really see how we can help you.  Maybe you should check with the Women's Health forum as they talk about more general stuff like that or try to figure out if there is a forum on here that deals with pituitary and adrenal gland issues.

Good luck
