ahh im wondering if my cyst has ruptured in the past couple of days then because i am on my period at the minute and i have been extremely heavy! and in pain with the cyst and had shooting pains behind my belly.. the pain has eased off a bit today tho ive been on since saturday
Some of them do have to be removed. My last doctor i went to wanted to do a hysterectomy and i refuse to go to him now. The doctor i go to now told me that any doctor who wanted to do a hysterectomy on an 18 years old is out of him mind. I trust the one im go to now so much! He said most of them if they arent too big will dissolve on their own or rupture. I had one rupture an ended up in the hospital because of how much blood i lost. Many of them just rupture while you are on your period so you would never know that it ruptured.
also i have completely gone off sex as it hurts me too much, the pain during intercourse only started about two years ago, before that it was perfectly fine! so im thinking iv only had the cyst a few years x
hi thanks so much for replying, i forgot to mention that they did put me on the pill when i was about 14 and it made my periods a little lighter, but they made me vomit a lot put weight on and made me moody too! i only stayed on it for 6 months or so! I also started my periods when i was 12, they was horrible then but have gradually got worse as ive got older. I am also crying my eyes out curled up in a ball like you its awful isnt it. i find myself booking days off work when im due to get my period so i dont have to worry about ringing in sick. Have they removed your cysts? ive been told my cyst has stuff growing inside of it and it cannot go away on its own it will just carry on growing. So sorry to hear your worried about concieving, hopefully it hasnt caused too much damage and you will get pregnant soon and have a healthy normal pregnancy. Ill be honest it worries me too about getting pregnant in the future..x
I forgot to mention that they also told me that being on the pill made it harder for to try and conceiver because of the problems i already have because it threw my system off. The pill can also cause infertility after a while.
Hello,
I am 19 years old and from the day i started my period (i was 12 at the time) i can remember being curcled up in a ball for 5-6 days crying my eyes out at how bad the pain was. My mom is very old fashion and strict so for 6 years (ages 12-18) i could not do anything about it because she refused to bring me to an obgyn for fear that they would put me on birth control. My periods would be very heavy and i would have clots. I missed weeks and weeks worth of school every year making it very hard for me to pass. When i turned 18 (sept '11) i finally went to the doctor. They did 2 ultrasounds and found i had a 4-5cm cyst on my right ovary as well as 3 cysts on my left. I also had too many follicle on each ovary for them to count (follicles are when your body tries to ovulate but it wont let you and your egg gets caught and will not release itself). They told me that the cysts with the follicles were what had been causing the pain all along. I was put on the pill and it helped a little but suprisingly it had more bad outcomes than good so becareful going on any of that stuff. The cons of being on the pill was i was always moody (surprisingly) and i began having a lot and i mean A LOT of pain during intercourse. I would end up in tears every time. Finally in March '12 i decided to get off the pill and me and my fiance decided we wanted to start trying for a baby. We have been trying since march but have not conceieved yet. I later found out in July '12 that the cysts can cause infertility or just having trouble getting pregnant as well as the follicles because it means i do not ovulate normally. I went to the doctors yesterday and have to go back for an ultrasound today because i believe i am developing a large cysts due to how much pain i have been in the past several weeks. I also found out my insurance will not cover fertility treatments until you have been trying for 2+ years. So overall (sorry for the speech) i am trying to say i know how you feel and i think that having the cysts could be the cause because you could have had them for years and not known that that was causing the pain and you could have only 1 now. They mostly dissolve on their own unless you are like me where there are a lot and they are constantly developing. But just be careful if they put you on anything if you ever plan on having children. Make sure you ask risk, side effects etc. Hope this helped a little and good luck. If you ever need to talk i am here.
