Help me ASAP please

So I was just told yesterday (friday) I have Bacterial Vagonosis and was given 14 metronidazole 500mg. Im suppose to take 1 tablet twice daily so yesterday I took two, however my doctor said since its long weekend and drinking is most likely going to happen I would suggest to start the pills on Monday because you cant drink while taking it due to sickness. I totally regret taking it now and wish I waited until the long weekend was over because tonight I want to drink. So my question is if I stop taking the pill because I havent taken any today and wait until Monday and take 2 everyday for a week without drinking would that be safe and work still even though I have already taken two?

No it wouldn't be safe.  You need to take the prescription as directed.

Drinking whilst taking metronidazole will make you feel very ill with nausea and vomiting.

A couple of days without alcohol is a very short price to pay.  Your health is more important.  You can still have fun without alcoholic drinks.

Best wishes.

Hello there,

I agree with specialmom's comments. You will get very sick if you combine
the medication you've already taken, 1000 milligrams of this drug.
If a medication states you are not supposed to drink alcohol while taking
the medication, that warning is there for a reason. The reason being to
prevent you from ending up in the hospital or worse.
I myself take a medication which states I cannot drink alcohol with this
drug. For me, my medication is on a daily basis. Luckily , I don't drink
any alcohol, not beer or wine. Listen to the doctor. Don't drink any alcohol
while you're on this medication. Once you're through taking the medication
you can drink some alcohol, till then do not drink any alcohol or you
will be seriously sick and could end up in the hospital or in a comma,
or have seizures or worse. Hope you feel better soon. Eve :)

Hi there.  Well, too late now dear.  You took the medication and unless you want to be extremely sick, you will need to curtail drinking.  I will say that it is good to be able to be social and mix and mingle in an environment where others are drinking when you aren't.  This is good practice for that.  If that is very unappealing to you then I do worry a bit that you place too great a value on drinking and that it could eventually become a problem for you.  I'm not a big drinker.  I socialize in drinking environments all the time and enjoy myself.  And the awesome news----  I never have a hang over!!

Go ahead and force yourself to skip the drinking for a weekend.  You'll live.  There are plenty of weekends ahead of you.  good luck
