Lost tampon emergency?

This is embarrassing for me to say, but a couple of days ago I woke up and inserted a tampon. I experienced a little difficulty, and this made me wonder whether or not I took out my tampon from the evening before. So I took out the new tampon and tried feeling around for the old one several times. I didn't feel anything but I was shy because I don't want to break my hymen. Could I, by checking? I really don't want to.
Anyways I did some research on lost tampon symptoms.. I woke up this morning the slightest bit dizzy and aching a little, but I don't know if I'm just inventing symptoms because I'm scared. I basically stopped bleeding, and the blood is brown, but this is pretty much normal for me as my period's really weird.

I'm too embarrassed to talk to anyone about this. I'm only 14. I don't know what to do. I may not even have a tampon in there, I don't even know at this point. Please help!

Try pushing it out with your vaginal muscles. That's how I take mine out, I find it uncomfortable to pull them out so I push it out and when it gets to. The opening I pull it the rest of the way out. I sometimes get busy in my day and forget to change one or take it out so I set a calendar alarm on my phone and name it 'change t' that way I never forget.

If you think there's a chance you could have lost a tampon up there, you should see a gynecologist. I know it seems embarrassing for the first time. The doctors are very kind and will walk you through everything. They are used to these kinds of visits. It's better to get it checked out than ignore it. If there is a tampon in there, leaving it in there can put you at risk for infection and Toxic Shock Syndrome, which can make you very sick. It doesn't mean you will get sick, but leaving it in there can cause illness in some women. If you didn't leave one in there, even better for you. But, it's in your best interest to see your doctor.
Good Luck!

Lost-tampon doctor visits are quite common.  If you don't have an ob-gyn, this might be a good time to get one (for the obvious reason that they get these calls the most often, so you won't have to bother to be embarrassed.)  If you think there is a chance, go see an ob-gyn and have a check.
