is everything normal??

(sorry for my english, I am not a native english speaker)
hi
my mom is 51, postmenopause for a 2 year. she was having some uterine problems along with (what we believed) menopause syndromes. she had and appointment wid her GYN on 4/7. results came back in today. all her pelvic imaging (USG) were normal (no explanations why she was having lower abdominal pain and blotting). however some of her blood work were not normal.

1) elevated thyroid levels
      normal range: 0.54-4.72
      her blood work showed 6.48
the doctor was adamant about using any medicines for this level of thyroid. he recommended on waiting for 6               more months and said medicines are warrented only when the level reaches beyond 8

2) defficient in Vit.D
i dont know the exact level of Vit. D in my moms blood work, (i am not wid my parents, i got the info via phone). however the interpretations of Vit.D analysis were categorized under 3 groups: insufficient, deficient and excess, her Vit. D levels fell under deficient catagory.
the doctor as before was not at all interested in any kind of interventions to bring back her Vit D levels to normal

3) Fatty liver:
she was diagnosed wid fatty liver bt doc didnt recommended any medicines or treatment plans

Do u think the doc is doing the right thing or should we have a second opinion regarding these matters. Also are these 3 abnormalities common or do they suggest some sinister conditions??

Definitely get a second opinion. And if you can't accompany her to the apointment,  get her to ask some questions. So she knows hy her thyroid, vitamin d deficiency etc is not at a normal level. Also, ask why can't she have medication and should she be eating healthier, taking vitamins? Ask what she needs to do to bring everything back to normal.

This is definitely above my level of expertise however, I really think your mom needs a second opinion. Based on what you outlined, it would seem as if she needs a lot more medical attention and care than she is currently getting from this doctor. Do not take anything for granted. Find a hospital or another doctor to sufficiently explain what is happening in your mom's body.

You could also try posting this under another category on Medhelp, just go through and see what fits what you are describing. Also, the ask a doctor forums takes questions sometimes. You could always try.:-)

Peace and Love,
Anna
