Mirena IUD pregnancy symptoms

Hi guys!  I had a mirena inserted in march 06, i bleed for 2mths straight and then stopped, and got a normal period a month later.  I am 3weeks over due for my period, im always tired, frequent urination, weight gain (eating heaps)...and feeling sick like i want to vomit.  I have also had problems with my bowels (which is common in my pregnancies).  I have three children already oldest is 3 and the young 8mths.  I have got pregnant on the pill, the implant (in the arm)...and im scared im pregnant again.  I had a home preg test which came up neg, then a week later it came up lightly positive.  Just to make sure i took another one three days later and it came up neg.....what is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Rosalind

I can't believe there are soo many people out there with similar stories! My story is quite the same...I just turned 31, already have 3 children, ages 12 ,10, and 5. Last fall I went to my ob-gyn for my annual exam, and discussed the options of tying my tubes versus keepin the mirena which I've had in since Feb 2007. After hearing the pros and cons, and being told that they both have the same effectiveness, I was convinced to stick with the mirena IUD, since I really didn't want to put my body through that of a tubaligation if the chances of pregnancy were about the same...AND my periods would go back to what they were before the Mirena which was 8 days of pure torture! For the past 5 years, I have had normal, on time periods every month.. I spotted for 2-3 days, then had 3 days of regular menstruation, followed by 1-2 days of spotting. like clockwork, within a day of the previous month, I bled...I am due to have my IUD replaced in Feb 2012, just got the call from the Dr's office to set up that appt, so I pushed this years annual exam to feb as to not have to go in twice...Well, about 1/1/2 wks ago, my 10 year old was throwing up, and just the sight of him being sick, literally made my stomach turn, and I can usually handle that since I've been through it x3 children already. Then I noticed my breasts were sore...other than that, I thought everything was quite normal, until right before xmas, when I should have started to spot and did not...then my normal period did not come...and I was due on 12/27...after doing some research online, and knowing my own body, I decided to call the local walk-in clinic and skip the home pregnancy test which I read that most people get false negatives with anyways...took the test today, and found out I am 4 weeks pregnant! So tomorrow I have an appt with my ob-gyn to do an emergency ultrasound and exam to see where my IUD is; if it has been expelled, or still in place. I personally wasn't planning on having any more children, but am actually happy about this. Still in utter shock at the moment that this has actually happened to me, 1 month before I was due to have it replaced...My younger sister is also pregnant with her second child, and is due in July, so we for the first time ever, will get to be pregnant at the same time, and have children the same age! As long as there are no complications with the pregnancy due to the Mirena, which I will know more about MY risks tomorrow after I see my Dr. I think the fact that I know my own body so well, was a plus for me to see the signs early enough to hopefully have it removed with no complications. It's nice to share my story and know that there are others out there who have or are going through the same things as I am...

OK - so just an update that might interest you (or not :-)).... As I mentioned before I have been having the same symptoms as you girls have had. Then yesterday the cramping got a little worse and I felt a pin-***** kind of pain "down there". I have been vigilent in checking my wires (four kids is enough right now) and yesterday I noticed they seemed a little lower. I went to a Doc today and my Mirena had dislodged and was sitting and was stuck in my cervix! I have had my Mirena in for 11 months - she said this was rare to happen... She has sent me for a blood test to find out if I am pregnant! Fingers crossed I'm not! Find out tomorrow...

I got my iud two years ago and I. Didn't have the heavy bleeding for long however, I did gain a lot of weight and my skin went crazy. About a week ago I went to the restroom and notice I had started spotting again I haven't had a peroid in about two years. Then, it stopped. So my husband and I were having sex and out of nowhere my iud was in him hand. I'm scared because we don't want anymore kids for a few years. I haven't seen my doctor but I am bleeding cramping. I'm at a lost....
