Pain in lower left abdomen

Hi, my partner and I found out on Wednesday that we are pregnant, this will be my second child but im having a lot of pain in my lower left abdomen.  I was sent straight to hospital on Wednesday night with querie ectopic pregnancy and I've had 2 scans. I'm 5 weeks pregnant and im a little worried because although they can see what they call a fluid sack they can't rule out an ectopic. I'm just waiting for blood results to come back and im hoping everything is ok but im just wondering what could be causing the severe pain when my ovaries are ok?

I have not long got out of hospital today and they sent me for an operation on Sunday and an ectopic was ruled out thankfully but I had a Dr come through telling me it was a failed pregnancy which is a little too early to tell in my view I have refused to see anyone now but the Dr Who has seen me all week and has been great and preformed my operation. I am now a little sore but relieved it's not a ectopic pregnancy :-)

Gas and constipation are two other issues that could cause lower abdominal pain, which I'm sure have been mentioned to you.  It's a little concerning that they can't tell if you have an ectopic pregnancy after two scans.  I would stay on top of this as ectopic pregnancies are extremely dangerous.
