Hi, you may have dry eye syndrome. You will need to see your doctor for diagnosis, however artificial tear replacement drops are one course of treatment depending upon the cause. Medications and underlying disease can be causitive factors so please see your doctor for further diagnosis and treatment regimines.

Hi,
How are you? Aside from the eye discharge, what other symptoms are present? Aside from infection, eye discharge may indeed be attributed to allergy.  Irritations such as those caused by allergies to substances including pollen, dust or smoke may lead to stringy white mucus. Aside from antihistamine medication, try to identify and avoid the triggers. If your present medications are not helping also, it is best that you inform your doctor about this for proper management. Change of medication may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
