Period extremely late?

Hi, I'm twelve years old so obviously I don't know much about the body. I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone in real what the problem is so I decided the next best thing would to be ask online. The thing is, my period hasn't came for a long time now. I have been trying to ignore it for a long while now, but lately I've been extremely concerned. Last time I remember having it was in September-ish and I started having it when I was ten or eleven... I am a healthy weight for my age (if that may have something to do with it), I have masturbated before, and I have been getting alot of discharge. I don't know if this is serious or an allergic reaction of some type, so if anyone can help me answer this question so I can know what to do, that would be great.
Thanks. [:

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Stress is one of the causes of delayed period, but if there is a history of any unprotected intercourse, then it needs evaluation and to confirm the status of pregnancy, I suggest you to test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Also then I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Periods can stop for a TON of different reasons. Usually the first year is pretty irregular and it's not uncommon for a young girl to miss a few months. Now some of the things which could be effecting it (I'm assuming you aren't sexually active) are things like weight, vitamin deficiencies, hormone changes, and stress. Stress usually is only a month to month thing but very large changes can stop it for a time. If you haven't gained or lost a lot of weight then weight can usually be ruled out. For many women they won't get a period if they have too low of a BMI (fat percentage) and if a woman has too high of a BMI that can also stop a period. For now I would try not to be too concerned about it, but see a doctor if you're really worried. I would also suggest taking a daily vitamin because it can help and it's not a bad idea to make sure you're getting enough calcium and vitamin C.

Now what kind of discharge are you talking about? Some discharge is normal. Some of it is there as sexual lubricant or can be a sign of hormonal changes. The discharge to be concerned about is thick, colored, and/ or smelly.  These are usually signs that there is an infection brewing. If these get bad you should talk to a doctor because it could be a yeast or bacterial infection and they can get painful. All women get this at some time in their life, so don't be too embarrassed when and if you do get one.
