Sore, swollen lump on inner thigh by bikini line

A few days ago I noticed a sore, reddish swollen lump on my left inner thigh, right along my bikini line. It has since gotten larger (about the size of a nickel, and more elongated now).

It only feels sore if I press on it or rub against it. It seems like a soft lump that moves around with the skin. Last night I applied a warm washcloth to it for about 30 minutes, which made it feel better.

Could this be a swollen lymph node, or maybe an ingrown hair? It is located in the area where I shave daily.

Any advice would be very appreciated!

I think I might have the same thing, but I need a second opinion. It's a red puffy sore on the end of my lip of my vagina. It hurts ALOT especially if I sit down or walk. I do shave frequently. I started feeling the pain after riding my bike for a held hour yesterday. I'm scared that it might be an STD. Anyone know what it could be?

ri had one of these... turned out to be an infection frm an ingrown hair. i used a cotton pad soaked in natural witch hazel and placed it on the lump constantly changing the pad over 24 hours and the next day it just busted itself... i never felt so much relief and didnt even feel it bust lol but the smell that came from it was disgusting!!! witch hazel is excellent for this problem!

i have had a painful bump since i was 17 and it got worse to the point it opened and started goosing all the time, i had an open hole for a long time it hurt cuz it was on my bikini line, so when i walk it hurt alot. i went to a lot of docs. no one could tell me what it was or how to fix it. so after alot of doc appointments and cutting things out of my life cuz it hurt, i tried everything ever doc told me. i sis baths w/ sea salt, gaz always down there to keep it from getting worse. it finally closed but then it would open again. so i finally had surgery to cut it open and drain it. i thought it helped tell recently i got the bump back had not opened yet but it looks like it will soon. Anyone have something they did that i could try doing to help my problem?

Hi everyone, reading this made me much more at ease because I've had these sore, deep bumps on my upper, inner thighs like you guys are describing since I was in 8th grade (I'm only 16, but these bumps really started to worry me so I figured I'd look for help) and I'm glad to know it's not like, a tumor or anything. Do you really have to get them cut out to make them go away? Because they're so painful and it's embarrassing when I wear bathing suits or short shorts.... because they're so gross ): Can anyone maybe help me out with some more information in terms I can understand?
