Vaginal lesions

I am 36 years old and have had the same partner (faithfully)  for 11 years.  About 10 years about I started having these sores develop in my vaginal region.  They almost looked like little blisters.  I will just call them Vaginal lesions.  When they are about to show up the area will start to itch and burn slightly.  Then the vaginal lesion arrives there is considerable pain.  It will last for about a week then go away.  When they first appeared I would get one or two at a time then they would go away, but a couple of weeks later a would get another.  I was miserable.  Through the years
they have lessened.  Last year I only had one and now, about a year later, I have another. OB/gyn

Hi i've been experiancing some small lesions on my lips, lubia, and surrounding my vagina. About two weeks ago a was rapped and i'm terrified because i don't want it to be herbes. the lesions look like they could be blisters but they don't have anything in them. I've poked them with safty pins but only blood comes out.I've been searching the internet and nothing seems to describe my symptoms. The only time they hurt is when i wash up. I went to the doctor last week and they said it could be herpes but i have to wait for the results. I just wanted to know that lesions don't always mean std. I also have alot of allergies including ecxema, outdoor, indoor, and food allergies. I just want to know that herpes is not the only answer. I go to the doctor tomorrow. I pray that I'm right!

I am a fair skinned woman & have numerous allergies, which I take Allegra for.  I have patches of skin on my arms, legs, etc. that become red, dry and itchy after bathing.  I even have skin problems in my scalp, which I have been advised is psoraisis.  But I am experiencing the same type of irratation as all of you have listed, mainly occurring right after sex with my husband of 9 years, and around the time of my monthly cycle.  I have had recent testing, including STDs and Pap, all negative.  The thing that I find interesting is this, both my mother and my cousin have the same thing (they are both fair skinned), and are extremely faithful wives, and have had their share of testing, too.  My Mom has the same type skin allergies I have, except for the psoriasis of the scalp.  The possibility of it being hormonally related sounds like it could be right on key.  I am at my wit's end with it, and have even read up extensively on allergic reactions to semen, which REALLY made my husband happy. lol  Anyway, I hope someone finds out what this is soon, because it is very frustrating for both myself & my husband.  He feels like I just don't want to have sex with him (which is TOTALLY NOT the case - he's an ex-bodybuilder/firefighter - WHEW!), but it takes my body almost a week to recover from the extreme irritation, and then my monthly comes, and the irritation is there again.  Someone in the medical community needs to do some SERIOUS RESEARCH!!
I will definitely try the no white stuff (sugar, starches) approach & see if it helps.  Anything is worth a shot.

The cousin I previously mentioned has such extreme skin allergies, she can't use any type of dishwashing detergent, except Ivory, or her hands burn and peel & her 18 month old daughter (who loves to help with the dishes) has the same type of skin allergy.
I have to be careful with even what type of toilet tissue I use, or I become VERY irritated.
Also, I have ovarian cysts, I noticed that some of you ladies mentioned that, as well, which would lend credibility of sorts to the hormonal theory.
I also have breast cysts and a pineal cyst in the brain.
I had no idea if any of this could be linked, but figured I'd throw it in, in case anyone else has experienced these things in conjunction with the irritation.
This is just a nightmare.

I have read your comments b/c I was having the same problems and never connected my sore throat with those vaginal lesions but it makes sense now. I am a dark skinned African American with brown eyes and about a year and a half agostarted looking into natural herbs and the natural way of living. I wanted to start with a clean slate and decided to cleanse my entire body inside and out by using "The Master Cleanse" (google it) before I did the cleanse I read the book the Yeast Connection and realized that most of my symptoms were caused by YEAST! I ate lots of sugary, starchy foods and foods that are very acidic. Also I was eating lots of processed foods as well which filled me with toxins. I lived a very stressful life as do most of us. I did the cleanse for 10 days and although at first it was rough, by the end of it I felt like a new person! Oh yea I had also been trying to conceive for 5 years and when I ended the cleanse on that Saturday had no problem conceiving on the very next Thursday durring ovulation. As women our bodies absorb toxins such as yeast and this may be a way that our bodies is trying to rid itself of some toxins. My advice is to try a cleanse and change your diet to a more fruit/veggi friendly diet and try to make time for yourselves so that you can destress. I know it's hard b/c we are women, but if we don't have an outlet our bodies will go haywire. Take care and Peace to all.

i have read through almost all of your comments and i can relate to many of you. in my situation, i got sick with a sore throat, like i normally do when the weather changes, so a friend of mine brought me over some amoxicillin and ampicillin. after taking these meds, i noticed that the date had expired and i was concerned but not too much. i had a blow up with my kids and stormed out of the house to cool off. the next day i noticed that there was a tingly feeling when i urinated. i noticed some small little red bumps.

2 days later, urinating felt like i was being burned at the stake. i looked with a mirror and noticed that the red bumps were now white lesions that looked like canker sores. as time went on, i got a slight fever, then, i noticed red bumps in my throat. i went to the ER and they were baffled. one of the the doctors said that it didn't look like herpes but that they were definitely ulcers. my discharge was runny and a cream, yellowish color but there was no odor. the sores spread in my throat and on my tonsils. i was sick as hell. ER gave me levaquin and generically diagnosed me with chancroid and gave me erythromyacin. didn't help.

so i suffered some more then i came on about 3 or 4 days after all of this onset. after about a week, i went to the local clinic. they instantly said herpes and prescribed me acyclovir, zithromax and metronidazole for the BV. i was devastated. my last partner was about a month before and he was not a new partner. he did later tell me that he had contracted trichomoniasis from someone and i let him go because he told me that he hadn't been with anyone.

anyway, the symptoms seemed to go away. i could barely walk, i couldn't kiss my kids, i couldn't sleep and i lost about 20 lbs because i couldn't eat, though, i was starving. i went through bottle after bottle of ibuprofen and tylenol and found that dissolving bayer aspirin worked best in relieving the pain. well, right before the symptoms were completely gone, it flared up again. this time it seemed as if there were more on my vagina and some were almost on top of each other. painful and had the nerve to itch. i tried yeast infection med because i figured i had to have a yeast infection because of the amount of antibiotics that i had taken already. it did help to relieve the itching but the lesions kept on coming.

then i developed thrush. my tongue felt as if it had a fur coat on it and eating was out altogether. the cankers kept coming almost as if they didn't want me to eat or drink. i wound up going to vitamin world and bought noni juice, olive oil extract capsules, multi-vitamins with zinc, vitamin c, etc. in them and acidophillus capsules.

well, low and behold ladies. i created a concoction that works quite well. i, too, have done the neosporin, but i think that it prolongs these lesions because of the moisture. i bought pure olive oil from the store, broke open 3 olive oil extract caps, and one acidophillus cap and mixed them in a small bowl. when i go to the bathroom, i cleanse myself with my water bottle filled with baking soda then i dab this oil mixture on. the acidophillus forms a crusty like seal on the sores and i also mixed some of the yeast infection cream in there for the itchiness. it has worked very well. i sleep through the night even though i still have some very irritated sores.

i have been tested for every std, hiv, aids, you name it and have no positives. as far as the sores in my mouth, the doctor prescribed fluconzole and gave me troches (clotrimazole lozenges) that i suck on 5 times a day. now i have excess mucous that fills my mouth but the yeast comes off of my tongue as i gargle and spit. i use warm salt water, baking soda and peroxide to rinse with. i also use sensodyne toothpaste because regular toothpaste burns those canker sores to death.

go online and do some research on those herbs. they have helped me alot. once i get this mouth under control i will be home free. also, adding lysine to your diet can also help with the lesions.

i am a 37 y.o. black female, not fair skinned with light eyes

I actually got my Mirena IUD taken out on May 28th (when you posted), I feel like a different person.  I had so many problems--related to this IUD---the worsed being extreme vaginal sensitivity . So, far no more problems. I don't not reccommend anyone to get the Mirena IUD. My husband and I are using hormone free birth control from now on.

Hey guys, it's me again after a year later. I visited another gynecologist and was tested for herpes and everything yet again. But nothing. No funky discharge or anything. After that I went to a dermatologist and she suggested that it could be just thin skin. The break outs have toned down a lot since around November last year. They only appear now when I'm on my period so maybe it is a hormonal issue. I know when they started to occur it was a few months after I started NuvaRing. I switched to pill form and that seems to be a lot better now. However, I'm afraid to get an IUD (Mirena in mind) with this problem because it might cause the painful flare ups again.

Also, jackrabbit I hope your appointment goes well. How has your IUD been treating you?
