Very Worried

A few days a go I noticed a bump on the side of my inner vaginal lip, right next to the vaginal opening.  I took a closer look at it, and it looked reddish brown and it's raised, I guess sort of like a pimple.  It's pretty sore too.  I went to the doctor today, and the nurse practioner said it does not look like herpes, but took a swab and did not see any bacterial or yeast infection at all.  I'm waiting for culture results (she did not swab any fluid that came out of the bump, but just the bump itself), but am still scared to death that it could be herpes.  She also put me on antibiotics in case of an infection.  I am very worried that this could be something really bad...I've never had anything like this happen before.

I have ALWAYS used a condom during sex.  It's more the foreplay that I'm worried about with accidental genital contact.  I know I'm probably paranoid ...but still. Thanks for the response.

You can get pimples or cysts down there--I wouldn't worry until you get the results back. If you are worried about herpes and it isn't herpes--I would advise always using a condom to protect against STD's so you don't have to worry next time! Good luck!
