Hello,
The thickness of endometrium changes during the menstrual cycle according to the phase of menstrual cycle. During secretory phase it can be thick. To rule out any endmetrial hypertrophy or cancer, you should get a endometrial biopsy done. Also discuss with your doctor the reasons for which they are shifting to Mirena from depo shots.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

HI,
Endometrial lining of 19mm is thick and needs to be treated. Progestin is the line of medical management. Mirena is an IUD containing long acting progesterone and should help you. Also an endometrial biopsy should be done to look for endometrial hyperplasia or cancer. Consult your Doctor.
