hemmoroids in young adults

My daughter is 20 years old and drinks plenty of water and eats lots of fiber and has bouts with hemmoroids now and then. It is uncomfortable for her. She was told by her doctor to drink plenty of water and eat lots of fiber.
The advice is already followed so I am not sure how to help her.
This condition seemed to come up after she had a severe infection with mucous and blood in her stools about 2 years ago. She was very sick for a couple of days in and out of the hospital and then just as suddenly as it appeared it went away without explanation. She had several tests and nothing was ever diagnosed. The only thing that I can think of is that she may have developed the hemmoroid then. Any ways to eliminate the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to answer! I guess that makes me feel better because she is away at school and I got her Kaiser because she was in a Kaiser area and we aren't where I live. I was so happy to be able to get her it because she had it as a kid until we moved. My husband was against it because of all the negative Kaiser stories and I had to fight to get it and then when they didn't cure her I thought Oh no it's my fault for insisting on Kaiser! Thanks again GRose! I will tell her about sitz baths. I also got something at the healthfood store that has something to do with blood vessels health that seemed to help her.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for hemorrhoids, there are things you can do to treat them however. You already mentioned drinking enough water and getting enough fiber, this is to prevent constipation. She can try preparation H cream to soothe them, tucks pads and using a sitz bath. Hemorrhoids can be caused simply by straining too much during a bowel movement. Once you get them they can always come back.
Let me know if you need more info on the sitz bath but I'm sure you could find a lot of info on it online.
