You are 4 days late on your period.  Don't worry too much.
Even though you use protection, if your sexual partner entered you when he was erect but before putting on the protection, some semen can still come out before an ejaculation and there is a slight possibility that you may be pregnant.

Keep a record of your periods for the next two cycles and if your periods do not stabilise then see your doctor to check your hormone levels.

If you have been unwell or under stress, as you know that can mess up periods too.

Also if you are not eating properly and become anaemic that too can mess up periods.  Make sure you eat a healthy and balanced diet with fresh fruit and veg. and drink plenty of water so you do not become dehydrated.

If you are feeling tired all the time, it may be worth you seeing your doctor to check your bloods for anaemia.

Best wishes.

I am so sorry about the lost baby. I don't think that kind of experience and loss is EVER forgotten and it could very well be playing a part in this. Our minds are incredibly powerful............

If stress has delayed your period before, it could again. So obviously you need to check your stress level. If there is something going on, deal with it.

I still recommend the pregnancy tests. IF being pregnant right now would not be the best time, that could be the trigger for your stress. If being pregnant would NOT be a stressor, than the memory of the lost pregnancy could be causing the stress.

And even though you've been incredibly regular, our bodies DO change as we get older and while you are only 29 which is a spring chicken in my book, you're not 19 either Dorothy and you live in Baton Rouge, not in Kansas!

I still say you're just 4 days late and you're freaking yourself out.
But please keep in touch!
Peace

Hi thanks. I have only had two late periods before. Once pregnancy (lost the child) and two stress. I know I am probably worrying over nothing but I just needed more help in calming my nerves. We use condoms so I think I should be okay. But I will keep you informed.

There are so  many reasons why our periods can be late and the VAST majority of them are of no concern.
You are 29 years old, so you're definitely NOT a newbie to periods. In all that time, have you never been late before?
Are you on BC pills or do you use another method? If you have switched recently, that could throw your cycle off.
Stress, anxiety, overworked, the flu or any kind of bug...........all these can bugger with your cycle.
But so can good things! Are you going on vacation soon and getting really excited? That can throw you off. Just been promoted at work? Moved to your dream house? Class reunion coming up? Best friend getting married?
Our emotions can do this to us. Take a minute and do an inventory of what's been going on in your life this past month that could possibly affect your cycle.
If you've just begun a diet, that can also affect it. Like I said, there are many reasons this could be happening.
That you are only 4 days out of whack, while I know that is unusual for you, really isn't much to be concerned with right now.
Have you done a home pregnancy test? I know you use protection, but nothing is 100%. Do at least two separate test. That will rule pregnancy out.
If you begin to have any pains or spotting and especially a fever, I would definitely advise a trip to your Gyno. If you have not gotten your period in two weeks, that would also be the time to get things checked out.
I passed menopause a number of years ago, but one NEVER forgets their menstrual history. I used to skip entire months sometimes and my gyno told me that was really normal. But that was normal for ME. There are no two women in this entire universe who have exactly the same periods or the same cycles.
In short, check for pregnancy now, if that's not it, just try and relax. Being tense and worried, as I wrote before, can delay your periods.
Personally, I don't think you have anything to worry about, but when it comes to our health, I always, always advise erring on the side of caution. IF..........and that's a BIG IF..........there is something going on, catching it early is what we want to do.
Take a very hot bath, a glass of wine if you imbibe, a good book or movie, a night out with the girls.............get your mind off this.
You're going to be fine.
Peace

Let me know when that dang period does show up! I hope the delay doesn't turn it into a "gullywasher!" THOSE are the worst! LOL
