unprotected sex while on birth control, dark-thick period?

hey, I'm 18 years old and I've been dating my boyfriend for over a year. Obviously we've had sex. I've been on birth control (yasmin) since i was about 16. Because I'm on birth control I don't always use a condom. I know not the smartest thing, but my boyfriend and I are both clean. In January I had a seziure and was put on an anti sezuire medication. I've been on these pills for about 4 or 5 months and have continued to have unprotected sex on occason. This passed month I've been feeling different though. random backaches, constant hunger and headaches. Today i was supposed to start my period,  and did.. i think. Instead of it being regular it's very dark and kinda thick and gooey looking (if that makes sense). I really can not be pregnant right now (hense the bc), so I'm hoping I'm just over reacting... does anyone know why this is happening ? i would really appreciate any input please and thank you!

My periods often vary from month to month (they can be more watery or more thick) and the PMS symptoms are sometimes different. To me it sounds like you are not pregnant, especially if your period last a few days.
Something to consider, though, is that certain anti seizure meds can decrease the effectiveness of yasmin - have you talked to your doctor about this?
