What happens if our circadian rhythm gets all messed up and we want to sleep during the day and be awake during night? How do we get this back on track?

By resetting your body clock.  Process is just like adjusting to jet lag.  Set/keep just one consistent wake time every day, without any sleeping in or napping, for at least one month straight.

Within a few weeks, you'll start feeling drowsy enough for proper sleep roughly 15-17 nonstop hours later.
