What kind of headache do i have i need help!

I'm 16 years old, I have anxiety, and for the past 3 weeks I've been getting headaches. It's mostly on the right ride more twards that back of my head that goes up the side of my head to my ear and temple. Sometimes I get headaches that don't hurt, but It's like a tingly sensation not on my scalp but more of my head. I've had an mri scan last summer when I thought I could have a tumor or something because of my anxiety but it was clear, but that was in the summer. I wear glasses, and I need new ones because mine dont work anymore i need a new perscription, could that be why?  I dont know what to do I just want to know whats wrong with me! help??

Hi,

Your MRI scan showed normal results and this rules out an underlying intracranial involvement at this point.

Based on your symptoms, you may be having migraine headaches, tension headaches or cervicogenic headaches. Migraine headaches are usually one sided and may be throbbing in character. Tension headaches are bilateral and may present with tightness over the neck and shoulders.

Have you had any previous trauma to the head and neck?

Does your job entail that you sit for hours ?

A spine related disorder due to poor position and support to the back and neck may trigger headaches. Is this true in you case?

A follow up consult with your eye specialist may help rule out your eye problem as the cause of your headaches. At this point this appears to be the primary or most likely differential. I know you are worried and anxious about this but do relax and have fun. If there are any problems at work or school it is best that you discuss this or share this with someone who can listen and help you.

Yes not having the right prescription glasses can cause headaches because your eyes strain more to read and things like that, try not to read too much until you get your new glasses otherwise you will be putting your eyes under stress and the headaches will stay. If your headaches don't go away once you have your new glasses then try going for a massage, i have anxiety and i've found that this relieves a lot of tension in my neck :)
