Detox center or Taper?? Help!! =/

Hi everyone...its me again. Well...I started my taper and I did good today. Im not feeling bad at all. I cut down the 2 pills I was suppose to...and Im going to keep on keepin on. My question is my time-line. I have have have to be in Texas on Feb 19th...24 hours of driving...**sigh**. Well...I wont have any family or friends there till May when hubby gets back. Sooo with my insurance...they will cover 100% of 7 days of Detox and 21 days of Rehab. So should I just say screw it and go the 7 days of Detox and forget the tapering?? I have 3 weeks!! Thats it! What should I expect coming out of detox after 7 days, then coming home with no meds to make me comfortable?? I heard in detox they give you an "opiate based" med to keep you feeling ok. Is that true? So does that mean when I get home, im still gonna be ill??

First off, I am so proud of you for making the decision to go into treatment. Please make the best of it and stick it out for the 30 days. there is a reason why they keep you beyond 7 days. At that point you are only past the physical withdrawal. they keep you to deal with the mental withdrawal, which will hit you. Stick with it hun. You won't regret it.

Every center is different. I don;t know what they give for withdrawal.

Thanks so much! Im ready. I really am. Im tired of being tired. Im sure you all know what I mean. Im more scared of this move ahead of me and feeling better by then. I dont want my boys to see me sick, so this is the best bet I think. I just called the Detox hospital and they dont have a bed for me right now. The only bed they can get me in on is a Pych Ward downstairs! I would be sharing a room with someone with mental problems..and that would scare me. I would be afraid of sleeping. Dont think thats the right way to do it. I dont know. But I will be calling everyday to see if they have something open since detox is only 7 days there! Then rehab is 21 days approved by my insurance.
