Im Losing my Job, over methadone detox!!

This morning I came to realize that I have to quit my job after being their for 6 almost 7 years, It,s heartbreaking but theirs no way in the world I can work in the condition Im in, & they say methadone gives people their lives back? Sorry, but Im finding that one a little hard to believe at the moment, as my marriage is now disfunctional, & Im jobless!  I was just fine at 2mgs & even 1mg I was capable of working, but not now, Im way to shaky & emotional to even think about work & being around people is just not something Im ready to do, but Im not to worried, I have never had problems finding employment & in the meantime, its all about me trying to get myself back together again, when the times right, I,ll get a new job, I enjoy working & making money, so this is gonna be kinda tough, but I,ll be ok. I completely understand where your coming from.  I've been there.  Methadone is hard to withdraw from no matter how you spin it.  100mgs or even 1mg.  It really doesn't matter. (meaning it's awful regardless)   If it's been taken for over a month....it is also stored, it adds up.  But if i recall correctly you are around day 9 or 10 right?  You should start feeling better soon.  I started feeling better around the 3 week, however i quit cold turkey, so i would imagine you are just about there.  Congrats....your job is not worth your life anyhow.  It is only NOW that you are starting to live.  So happy for you.  All the best.

Hi Penelope, cant you take sick leave?,, its a shame you have to quit your job you said you felt fine on 2mg 1mg wow, but then again i feel 2mg tapering so yeah, stuff is really strong, do you think there's any other way round it? what if you took just 1mg again till you figured out something other work? depends i guess how much you need the job, hope your r/ship works out too addiction can take its toll in that area for sure, but dont be to hard on yourself N

I see. Keep your chin up. I recently went through the same thing. I detoxed while taking a week off and when I went back they let me go. Forturnately I was able to go back to my old job. Unfortunately i'm using again. Things have a way of working out so like YOU said stay positive and they will.

No they dont know Im detoxing, they think Im on vacation, some vacation! This is not the type of place where people are understanding towards drug addiction & they wont get it!  Other wise I would have went to my boss & told her about my situation, so its best for me just to walk away, Im trying to look at this as positive as I can, I,ll get a new job, the job Im at right now is so stressful & Im afraid I,ll lose it & get fired. Thanks for the advise. I know you will look at the positive side, you always do.Take the time off to relax and get yourself to where you want to be mentally and physically.I know what you mean about liking to work and making money.I haven't worked for 8 months, since we got my husbands granddaughters.Honestly I don't think ,in fact I know,I would have never been able to hold down a job this past month. You do what you need to do for your personal well being. Before you know it you'll be back in full swing.Lots of Love.
