7 days methadone free

I have been. Chemically depending for last 25 yr. I dropped meth down to 1 ml and took the leap n stopped it left. Thursday..a week tomorrow  I feel great and even managed a Zumba class yesterday. I'm eating. Sleeping. Have an appetite and feel constantly shattered but I'm feeling that the worst is over...can anyone please allay my fears that this wont suddenly change n will be hit head on with big rattle?"

Hi :)

First I want to give you a Big Round of Applause on your brave kick! It sounds like you did a good taper (so important -- especially with M'done). A Zumba class, eating & sleeping -- Just Awesome!

I was on my last clinic for 20 years & my kick was not as smooth as yours appears to be. I think that age, stress levels, genetics, attitude & general health also factor into it.

Hit over the head with a Rattle? (smiling in recognition here, though I would have said a 2 x 4).

Welp, you've faced down your doubts & fears & you've proved to yourself that you can do this & that you're strong! So, just keep going. Yes, you might find that you have 'dips' & seem to go backwards sometimes but neural healing takes a while. We didn't get addicted in a day so it's reasonable that it'll take some time to heal. It also takes work & soul-searching to start to repair our lives & learn to sit in our own skins when things get 'tough' without recourse to addictive behaviors. Be on guard against triggers, people places & things that might tempt you & an overindulge in any other form: Food, alcohol, gambling, sex, etc. Excess in any of these areas = the same old thing & hits the same pathways in the brain.

Keep up the exercise (great work!) Try to eat as healthily as possible & drink lots of purified water -- these will all speed healing.

Congrats again on kicking this b*tch of a drug. Well done, you :)

Hi  well congrats getting off the liquid handcuffs.....you seem to be doing really good  how is sleep going??? that and the ''energy crash'' was the worst part for me...methadone is very cyclic and the withdrawal comes in waves your doing good but it is ok to have a bad day inbetween just know you will feel better slowly it took me a good 90 days to get my game back on you will feel a bit better at 30 days then 60 just hang in there  you where on it for years it wont go away over night  every day is a victory  time to put some form of aftercare in place  N/A is good and if it will work for a old dope fiend like me it will work for anyone..  keep posting for support....Gnarly

for me I came from 20mg to 5mg and jumped in 12 days the first 3 where the worst of the physical on day 4 it let up with just minor physical symptoms till about day 7 but it did take about 30 days till I felt comfortable and considered it gone from my body since you got down to such a low dose I would say your physical wont be bad mine came on very quick but my emotions where everywhere but we are all different I think you will fine on the physical part If I understand right you are already a week into it
