Well, that's a first! Kinda sounds like what happens when you're pregnant...you start craving things you'd never otherwise eat...it's got something you are deficient in most likely...could be lots of things...
I've heard through the grapevine that opiate addicts often crave "sweets".....whatever the preference may be. I too find myself often craving sweets. I'll get up in the morning, and most of the time people want eggs and bacon, I want brownies. THey'll have an omelette, I'll have a few cookies....It's quite strange. how to change it??? It's really a lifestyle change altogether. I find that before I eat anything (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) I drink a bottle of water, and THEN I'll eat the meal. It helps a lot with what you eat and portions as you already feel quite full. Also, I know it's lame but trimspa really helps me....if you incorporate diet, AND excersise, you'll be a lot less hungry and have more energy....
That's so funny you said that because I have the samething. With me it's Dairy Queen's caramel sundee's. Before I read this I was sitting here debating on whether to walk across the street and get one. I decided no to but to get a Klondike bar to eat tonight after dinner. To make matters worse there is not only a Diary Queen across the street but a Ben and Jerry's on the same side just a few doors down from me.
I say heck with it and don't worry about it. I think we will out grow this obcession. :)

On a serious note though I think were drawn to things that give us happenies. Ice cream = sugar which = engergy which = i can do anything or just that mid day pick me up. Everything now a days are enhanced with vitamins and minerals are bodies are use to stimulants as a society. Even fitness models and bodybuilders or just trainers take one type of stimulant from one day to the next and they leave some of the healthiest lives.
Rootbeer floats are a little bit tougher because its the ice cream with the added soda ill search on web but im pretty sure youll have to turn to sugar cubes 6 times a day for awhile :D
