Help!

I take 95mg of methadone a day. I take 8 mg klonipins a day. I also take 1mg xanax as needed. Am I in any danger?

Depending on how long you have been taking the methadone, and if a doctor properly titrated you up to 8mg per day of Klonopin, then you are not exceeding the maximum daily dose on either drug.  I don't think it is uncommon for doctors to prescribe methadone and benzo's.  I take 12.5mg of methadone and 1mg of klonopin daily, and I have no problems at all.  Any increase in the klonopin my doctor bumps me up .5mg at a time.  If you just up and took 8mg of klonopin your first day, whether you take methadone or not, the outcome may be fatal.  You would probably be alarmed at how much oxygen you are depriving your body of when you take medications at such high doses.  I strongly suggest that if you are illegally obtaining these meds, that you consider seeking help.  I wouldn't even come off of a dose of methadone or klonopin that high without the supervision of a doctor or some kind of rehab program.  If you have a valid prescription, then as long as you take them as directed, you should be fine, and disregard all my drug abuse jargon above.  If you are worried about the danger of these meds together, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop taking this combination of drugs. Benzos and Methadone DO NOT mix. Most Dr's won't even prescribe them together. Taking too much together can be FATAL. They work against your CNS and you will literally just 'Go to sleep" Many people have died from taking thsi combo of drugs albeit in different quantities. You have to remeber that everyone is different, the amount your are describing may not do anything to some but to others it could kill them.
Are these meds precribed by your Dr or you obtaining them from other means?

OMG!! please stop takin all those pills!! that is cause for an overdose!!my brother just passed away in his sleep on jan3,2009 from an overdose on those pills!!! i would hate to see that happen to you!! feel free to asy any questions...i am currently on subuxone,which has saved my life! i was on methadone-120mg a day.... research what i am takin and you might be interested!! good luck!!

like paadict said...ur body can overdose with that combo and u will not even know it til u go to sleep and quit breathing...just becasue ur tolerence is high does not mean that this can not happen...did not want to be so graphic but i also do not want to see someone overdose either...please be honest with ur doctors..if u r at a clinic then they would have tested u for the benzos?

I'm  sorry, I really don't have a clue...........   I would recommend that you google the combination  or go on some drug sites to see what the interactions may be.   Also you said you take xanax "as needed"  I am assuming that is from your doc,  you absolutely need to be honest with your physician of what you are taking so they know of any potential toxic drug overlap.   Also  check with your pharmacist,  most of them you can talk to without providing your name,  and see if he she thinks there is a need for concern.  Based on the dosage  and what you are taking  FOR ME  my biggest concern would be respitory  and blood pressure..  BUT that is just for me and how my body handles different drugs.   If you are getting your methadone from a clinic   PLEASE tell them the other drugs you are taking.....  it is so very important to be honest about this,  you are taking about your health.

is ur doctor aware of everything u r taking?  benzos are not usually prescribed to someone on methadone...so yes as 8 mg of klonopin is above the prescribed dose for most anyone/so dangerous in itself at that dose and definitely dangerous with the amount of methadone u r taking
