One Year Clean :)

by Robin6298, Dec 22, 2008 08:40AM
Yesterday was my one year anniversary.  It's been a long road, but one well worth travelling.  That being said, I still have issues with energy/fatigue.  Most days, I have to kick myself in the butt to get any work done.  I do have good days though, where I feel great, and can work, and have energy to spare.  But, those only happen about 1 or 2 times a week.  I also get weakness, fast heart rate, on my 'bad' days.  I am going back to the Dr's after the holidays for another physical.  I had one after my 90 day mark, and got a clean bill of health.  This was going on then as well, and the Dr didn't know why.  I'm praying that this isn't something permanent after my many years of using opiates, and my very long, hard detox.  I love the 'good' days, and want more than I'm getting.  I'll keep everyone posted :)

Thank you everyone :)  It means alot to read these words of encouragement.  I hope that it also inspires those just starting where I was a year ago at this time.  It CAN be done.  It won't be easy, it won't be fun, but it's worth every second when you come out at the end of the road clean.  Good luck, and thanks to you all!

Hi...as everyone else has said....way to go!  I'm about 3.5 weeks shy of 1 year and really looking forward to that mark.  My real goal is 2 years because from the reading, that may be the amount of time to completely rid yourself of the meds; psych wise.  I still feel emotional at times for stupid things, TV, commercials, etc...but I'm cool with it.  Energy wise...it's all good but I've been exercising hard for almost a year so I have plenty of that :-)...

Good luck to you
