Decide what you feel is right for you. If ya ever get to the end of that 2nd day again go for it,,the drugs will be out of your system in just another 24 hrs and it"ll start getting better. Worrieds right,,,aftercare is esential in not using again and ya need to start that plan now cause more often then not an addict uses when they feel better before they seek recovery,,gl

Hello Key,

If your in decent health even with your habit as strong as it is if you quit cold turkey you will suffer good for 5-7 days and then your done. It will be hell for those days but
if you can get through it your fine.
It really depends what your looking for in your life you have many options but it will depend on your financial status, do you have insurance? things like that. Can you get
away from your kids for five days go to a motel or better yet into a five day professional detox. There are many options but you will need a plan to recovery just don't proceed in the blind. When your feeling good make a plan and stick to it any questions and i'll be happy to answer them for you, good luck to you.

u r at about 15 7.5s a day?....around 100 mg a day and not astonishly high believe it or not...i was at 80 routinely but 120 was not out of my forecast in a day/if i had them...have u tried to quit on ur own?  tapering can be slow or fast...it depends on the person...ct is doable from that dose....i dont ever suggest suboxone with a dose like yours...but it is out there for consideration...gotta make a plan....pick a quit day with some down time...may need a trusted person to hold ur pills and dole them out...and go for it.....suboxone is a last resort if u can not make it as it has its downside and u will have to shake it one day....lots of factors and questions...do u feel like u will battle addiction the rest of ur life?   do u feel u can not withstand feeling flu-like for a week or less? so many start the sub and never get off..or if they do they dont post about it..and that is good/better than buying off the streets and such...just depends on where u r at and where u want to go...aftercare is a key to recovery

Thank you all so much it means alot to me to know that i am not the only one going through this but then again it hurts me and makes me sad because there are so many of us out there and we are judge for what we do but are no different from the rest of the world. I have a promising career and two beautiful children that i love, i am all they got and i have come forward with friends and family about my addiction and i was very serious about it but nobody believes me how serious it is, I can literally put away 2-3 7.5/500 every two-three hours when i have them, when i start to run out i dont panic until i dont have any at all. the first few days arent bad but its the end of the second day that brakes me down and i cry to GOD to take it away and i know he is a forgiving GOD and i have made my own choices but your prayer and incouragement is appreciated as i am going to change my life starting right now. Is there any suggestions on how to taper off as far as should i just schedule them or what? thanks for all the help

Hi Keyona, allboutmary is right you will meet many outstanding people here. Its helped me so much to just be able to talk to others with similar issues. I was big on opiates, Oxy's, norco, percs, codeine you name it I took it. I also had a dreadful cocaine addiction along with taking opiates everyday. Without a doctor's prescription I used methadone to get me off cocaine and the other opiates. Its not what methadone is typically used for as far as the cocaine goes, but with some self control it worked for me. Of course I ended up addicted to methadone and it was the most stressfull time in my life. I finally got medical insurance and visited an addiction/withdrawl specialist, who worked me over to suboxone. Now for me Suboxone worked miracles, and it wasnt hard to taper down and quit. I had to ween my methadone down to 30mgs day from 100mg, then over to the suboxone. I know suboxone isnt for everyone but it allows you to feel ok, have energy, and helps take away the cravings for opiates. Just try and find what you feel your body can handle doing and go for it, cause you can do it and we all promise the other side is so much better when you get used to it again. Good luck Keyona       "...if you want it, you will achieve it."

hun.. do you want to quit?

you can.  there's a number of ways.

please keep posting, and start a plan for quitting.

you're right - you don't want your kids to find you dead.  nor do you want to be altered like that all the time.  you can't be "present" for your children on that many pills.

i'm not judging you.  Lord know i used to throw back almost as many norco's...  but so have alot of us.  and now we don't.

you can get off this.  please do.... you have no idea how much better you will feel...

The withdrawl from not taking these pills can be pretty rough.
If you slowly tapper down your dose and than quit, the symptoms will not be as bad. you will still be uncomfortable, but i found it more bearable than just quitting cold turkey. The lower you can get your tolerance down before quitting , the milder it will be.
It does take some time to do this for most. Taking time off work and letting people around you know what is going on so they can help out would be a good idea. You want to put as little stress and demand on yourself as possible at this time.
my tapper took 1 month and then a couple of days after quitting altogether. Within weeks i was feeling back to myself completely again.

Hey Welcome to the forum. It's early so not alot of people will respond, but keep checking back.  I was in the same boat as you and this forum has been a life saver. You will meet some really great people here.
Everything you are feeling is normal for detox. It can last usually 4-7 days. It is doable, but not easy. Find the Health Pages at the top of the screen and look up the Thomas receipe . It will tell you what to expect and some things to help.  Keep posting on this forum. You will get so much support and information.    You can do this. There are a few different ways to get clean. Cold turkey, tapering, and Suboxone.
