No, you won't die from hydrocodone withdrawals, maybe Methadone or Tramadol but not hydrocodone. But cold turkey don't seem to be a very good option for you. That's how I did it, three (3) times. Cold Turkey and I did not use any other drugs either. All three times I made it to 100% normal again. It took 21 days to be at about 95% Normal each time, but the bad part for me was only for three days. After that it was much easier. And I worked every day while withdrawaling. Never missed one day. And I have to walk 10-12 miles per day every day. And read about 600 water meters, lifting metal lids, some very heavy. It is a very physical job. Of course I kept relapsing, you have to watch out for that part the MOST. CT worked for me, might not be your cup of tea. Then again I do have a God Like pain tolerance, so my friends tell me.
I was taking as much as you, if not more, on a daily basis. I just decided one day that the bottle I had was going to be my last and I quit cold turkey. It was not the best couple of weeks I have ever had (lol), but I did not come close to dying. Some people are more comfortable using another medication to help them, which may be right for you too, everyone has to choose the best way for them. But whatever you choose, just know that you will not die if you quit cold turkey.
Try looking into a Doctor in your area that prescribes Subutex. I don't think stopping cold turkey would be a good idea. No you won't die but you sure the heck will feel like you are. I have never taken them before but I have seen someone withdraw from them and it was not pretty.
Subutex will help relieve most of the withdrawal symptoms.
