Suboxone confusion

I'm on Day 4 of sub treatment and have had some interesting experiences. I've read tons about this and the more I read the more confused I get. So much seems negative. Anyone have a good story about subs/getting off subs, etc.? I could use some good news now that I'm on the right track to breaking my opioid addiction.

You sound like me 10 days ago.  I asked so many questions because I truly wanted to make sure I did the right thing.   The main thing is after you have done your research, you have to decide what is best for you.

As for me I chose to use sub. for detox off the lortabs and then directly to a taper to where I will have only been on sub. for 20 days when I am finished.  Since I am doing a short term detox, I kept getting anxious and wanting to drop down quickly and I probably could have but I finally decided after the first 3 days of 8, the next 3 days of 7, the next 3 days of 6mg, that I would drop 1mg every 2 days and tomorrow I will be on day 12 at 3mg.

I got a B-12 shot and am taking a multi-vitamin high in minerals, I bought ltyrosine for energy and haven't used it that much yet, I ordered some protein powder (muscle milk light 25 grams of protein only 195 calories)for smoothies, and I take melatonin for sleep.

I am trying to put my focus on after I am off the sub. now, to get myself healthy and bring my natural energy back.

Were you intially getting on sub just to detox or for longer use?  I wish you  the best.  Lyn

I am taking it and have been since my clean date 01/28/08.  I am taking 24 mgs a day, but it has done nothing but help me.  I love it, and I will take it as long as I have to.  Sure beats the alternative!

I am down to a crumb of sub, and doing great .  I have only good things to say about it. It has helped me sooooo much.  A long slow taper is best.  Make sure you feel confident that you won't relapse, then begin your taper off. I have been on it 4 months.  It might take a few more months to get compeletly off it, but I'm not in any rush.  The goal is to get clean and stay clean.
