OH what a ride...........

This opiate addiction is pure hell.  Mine all started with a surgery, and to be honest just ended up to be for the high.  This is my 2nd. and LAST time goin thru detox.  I want me back.  I dont wanna wake up in the morning making sure i have my lil friends just to function any more.  I am on day 5.  I hope the worse is over.  The aches and pains are PURE HELL.  Everypart of my body ached and no sleep.  I laid in bed all bug eyed begging for just a little sleep.  I finally slept last night.  I was up to 5, 6 vicoden a day,  I decided this was it, because everytime you run out and cant score for a few days it puts your body thru hell.  This addiction will grab a hold of you and have you by the very pit of your soul, it is a nightmare.  Not to mention the money i was spending, and i had to get up and go to work thru all this.  My doc tells me i should be good with in 5 to 10 days Any thoughts on that?  My feet are freezing and its freakin 90 outside.  Someone please tell me this will get better, and about how long will it take?  I am counting the days.

You're doc was right,it's usually 5-10 days.Great willpower on turning down the 'making a run, need anything' phone call.As bandnmom said the worst is almost over with the physical stuff. The mental part lasts longer so I would suggest to you an aftercare plan. This place is great, but also talking to someone one on one or going to NA or AA meetings is so important.Congratulations and stay strong, you're doing great. Peace.

If you have access to a swimming pool, I find that helps. Even just floating weightless and not swimming laps, it really releases the bad feelings, albeit for a while.

Tons of water, protein smoothies, vitamins, aminos do help. Plus, just close your eyes and take some long, slow deep breaths.
