meth w/d

Is it even possible to detox from meth at home?  I ask because it seems to be hard to kick because of the mental issues involved.  
I just want to want to have false hopes of my husband getting off meth.  He cant take too much time off work and cant go to a rehab unless its a 3 day thing thru a long weekend.

Nothing is impossible.  There are many who have overcome meth, and many on this site.  you may not see much of a response til the a.m. however.  Please be patient, but someone will come along to help you w/this question.  I have no experience with meth, hang in there.

he will have bto get to avery low dose by tapering..down to like 5 mg every other day or so..some transition to sub for 2-3 weeks then kick the hole 9 yards..readup in the health pages

i used to do meth (3 years sober) i dont remember it being a difficult withdrawal, physically all that happened was i became very tired and sluggish. mentally, the cravings were what made it hard. i dont remember being toooo depressed on it. but i do remember that for months following my disuse, the food i ate tasted like meth, certain things would smell like meth, it was awful. thats the worst part, the mental cravings.  i would just want it sooooo bad. i had been a few months sober when i caved and used it again for the last time. i was high and i remember thinking, "well this *****" and never picked it up again. and that was that

i had a pretty intense habit. i was severely underweight, had an unlimited supply and was constantly using. it is certainly possible to w/d at home but you gotta want it. if he doesnt want to be sober for himself, if he only is doing it for you, then it wont work. i only got sober when i got fed up with it and what it was doing to my life.

as far as him taking time off, think of it this way. its a life threatening situation to be an addict of meth. its something serious. a few days of missed work are worth it when you compare it to the alternative: jail and/or death.
