Advil Reactions

Hello.. I recently took advil cold and sinus, recommended by my doctor for a sinus issue, in one day i consumed 2 pills, waking up the next morning completely swollen around the mouth as well as having a major rash/bump breakout all over my face, mostly around the mouth and eyes. Im unaware of how severe it is, i was wondering if anyone could help me to what is going on as well as any procedures that help the reaction go away.. Please and Thank You

You will need to see your dr tomorrow so that he can document your allergy.  That information is very important for him to have on file.  Also, your pharmacist will need to be alerted as well.  They are great for catching allergic reactions with medications.  Be sure to tell him that you have an NSAID allergay.  If you have a reaction to one NSAID it is very likely that you will react to the others.  In the future you should avoid aspirin, ibuprophenn (Advil), naproxin, Aleve, Celebrex and maybe a few more.  The only safe pain reliever you can take is acetomenophen (sp - Tylenol).

For now you should take some antihistamine and Tylenol if you are in pain.  Cold compresses may be comforting and help reduce some of the swelling.

Feel better and document your allergy with your health care providers.
