Face is Swollen

I woke up the other morning with my face swollen and eyes swollen shut.  I also had swollen glands in my neck, a back ache, and a coated tongue.  i went to the shcool infirmery and they tested me for the flu, it was negative.  I don't feel like I have a cold.  They perscribed allergy mededicne.  But, I'm wondering if it's an allergic reaction to something or possibly a bite of some sort. I don't eat dairy, but did have some ice cream the night before and am wondering if this could have triggered this reaction.   Any ideas?

Why don't you normally eat dairy ?
