Funny taste

Hello,

I've been getting this weird taste in my mouth, it's been ongoing now for the past 2 years, on and off. This may seem funny, but when I block my left nostril, the taste goes away, and when I unblock it, the taste is there again. So, I'm assuming that it's related to my sinuses?? I've noticed that when I get a cold, for instance, the taste is constant, it's there all day until I go to bed. All other times, the taste comes and goes. I've also noticed that when I eat spicy or garlic foods, the taste comes more often. I've seen a few doctors about this and tried a couple things and I'm just fed up with this taste. Hope you can help!
