Hives caused by ragweed?

I am a 30-year old woman who has been breaking out into hives all over my body for about two weeks now. I have never had hives before – at first, they were mild, but have grown more severe this week. They are worst in the late-evening and morning hours. I have also had mild swelling in my upper lip, which reduced after about 24 hours. I went to see my family doctor, and she thinks it is likely seasonal allergies (namely, ragweed). I have been taking over the counter antihistamines which have relieved, but not eliminated the hives. I have had ragweed allergies in the past (worst around Labour Day), but have not been affected in the past few years. This morning, they spread to my face, which terrified me. Is it possible for a ragweed allergy to cause this reaction? I am very afraid they won’t resolve themselves (I have a trip in mid-November and I’m very scared this problem will still be here) and I’m going crazy from the constant itchiness. Please help!

Ragweed is an airborne particle that you breathe in and then react to if you have allergies. It sounds like you do, although I'm not very knowledgeable in this area. But whether you are or not it still sounds like you're reacting to something in your air. I've had a problem with my air before and now I found something that helped me.

What it is is a whole house filter that goes on your furnace. Once on your furnace it uses three distinct measures to extract particles from your air without making your furnace work extra hard. I heard about it when I was having this problem, and as you can see I did some research on it before I bought it. After I did though I found I could breath a whole lot better when I was in my house. So I'm hoping that this could help you too.

The website I found the best deal at was www.airlifeone.com. And I got the Electrobreeze brand. I've never had a problem talking with this company when I had a question, so I hope that they can help you too.
