Water Heat Rash

Water Heat Rash

Everytime I get hot and sweat I get a rash, and whenever I get into a body of water(bath, pool, ocean, lake) I get a rash.  Location of rash is on the back of knees down calf to the sides of feet, under side of arms from wrist to pits and down sides of stomach, and all around upper legs where I wear shorts.  The rash is red right away, then turns very very dry and sheds away like peeling skin.  It seems that if I get into the water when I've got the rash or I feel I need to cool off the rash is worse than if I stay out of the water.  I don't get this nearly at all during the winter months.  If I use baby powder when sweating would that prevent it?  And what could I do to prevent if wanting to go swimming?

Hi,

What you describe seems like sweat dermatitis or heat rash.

You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat.

If the symptoms are still persistent, consult your dermatologist and get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Let us know if you have any doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Good luck.
