blood test question

Hi everyone i need help First off sorry if this isn't in the right section can you steer me in the right direction. I can't go see my doctor for another 4 days and im curious to know whats going on right now. I had some needles taken for a job i got about 3 months ago. Today i got a letter from my company saying to go see my physician they are concerned about my health. I don't do drugs at all

My result just as it reads :

GGT: 10/U/L

Normal Value 15-73 U/L
I have no idea what that means at all. Any of you know? Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forum, Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) important enzyme involved in conversion of glutathione to other peptides and to L-amino acids.

The normal range is 0 to 30 IU/L. Elevated serum activity is found in diseases of the liver, biliary tract, and pancreas.

An isolated elevation in serum GGT or a GGT elevation out of proportion to that of other enzymes (such as the alkaline phosphatase and alanine aminotransferase) may be an indicator of alcohol abuse or alcoholic liver disease.

Hence, the level indirectly suggests alcoholism. Your levels are well within the normal limits. Apart from GGT if any other tests are done then that also needs to be analyzed. Take care and regards.
