cough

For the past week or two i have had a mild cough but no other symptoms. My throat isnt sore and doesnt hurt,my nose isnt stuffed or runny, and i havent had a fever. I dont usually have allergies so i dont think it could be that, but i dont know. A little while ago my ear started to feel like it needs to be popped,slight pressure but no pain. what is this?

It is quite important to rule out the cause of the cough, at the same time exacerbating factors, such as exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, dust etc. should be pointed out and further exposure should be avoided.This may be seen in association with the factors like cold air, sleep, or allergens. It seems to be mild for of allergy or cough dominant asthma.

You need to undergo certain tests like allergen test, spirometry, and serological test for Chlamydia or other infection.

Treatment includes cough suppressants, a trial therapy with bronchodilators, avoiding triggering factors, and available home remedies like use of honey and echinacea.
