The Eustachian Tubes are in the back of your throat & swallow
causes a tug. They run from throat over to middle ear part of
ear where air pressure equalizes. The valsalva you do (air to
pop) moves the tympanic window to attempt to adjust. That
window is between canal & middle ear. If drainage or throat
swells from cold/allergies/etc, tube opening gets swollen &
causes fluid to sweat in the tubes & narrow. This can trigger
spasm-pops or no pop. Dr's are getting lazy explaining things.
Never believe 'trust me'! 17 yrs? If you snore, you may have
too much tissue being irritated & blocking openings. Gd-luck.
