hot spots with blue toe nails

what causes hot spots in lower legs with blue toe nails;just big toes.  Veins on top of hand were enormous--now extremely small?  Sounds like a circulatory problem to me. Sonogram showed good veins & arteries;just congestion.  Would appreciate your opinion.  st

Hi, welcome to the forum, some of individuals are hypersensitive to cold, there seems to be spasm of blood vessel leading to more cold extremities. In Raynaud’s disease (disorder that affects the flow of blood to the fingers and sometimes to the toes). Sometimes during investigations blood vessels may show normal diameter.  Get evaluate for thyroid profile.

General measures you need to take are keep your extremities warm by dressing warmly, mittens or electric hand warmers. Avoid sudden exposure to the cold and temperature changes, avoid smoking (if present) and also avoid coffee. Calcium channel blockers, hydralazine, minoxidil etc. against prescription can be used, if the general measure fail. I suggest you to consult physician. Take care and regards.
