sinusitis

I need some help. So I have had a sinus infection for nearly two months. At first i went to the doctor and he just prescribed some antiobiotics. Didnt Work. So after a while it still didnt go away so i went back to the doctor and he sent me for an allergy test. The results came back and it turns out i am mildy allergic to dust mites, pollen, and peanuts. I kind of new about the dust mites and pollen but had nooooooo idea about the peanuts. And peanuts is a huge part of my diet. I eat lots of peanut butter and other stuff such as protein bars, ice creams, and what not that contain peanuts. I found out two mondays ago and have tried to lay off of peanut products but it is hard to adjust so abruptly so i find myself eating something then reading the label afterwards and finding out it has peanuts in it. So i have a couple of questions. First off, if i have a peanut allergy does that mean i cant eat other nuts such as cashews or pistacios? Also, is it normal for food allergies to cause chronic sinusitis like that? And lastly, it has been more than week now since i found out and have reduced my peanut intake, and the sinusitis has definatly improved, but is still there, should i be concerned?

Welcome to the forum!
If you are allergic to peanuts only then you can take other nuts. The sinusitis is not just because of food allergy. It is also due to dust and mites and pollen. So when you move out in heavy traffic or go to dusty places I suggest you wear mask to filter off the dust. Also vacuum clean your house well. It would be good to do away with carpets and other things that collect dust.
