Klonopin and Lexapro

Ok, so ive found a doc which I love....been prescribed these two meds. and so far of course the lexapro im still waiting on...the klonopin 5mg split in half does really nothing for me...she said if my anxietys bad to have a whole...so I did and today was MUCH better....a little bit a difference but not Enough.  In total ive taken 2 or 3 whole ones (at different times on an as needed basis) the question is, when do you think its okay to take One and 1/2 or 2 for Severe anxiety?

If ur anxiety is bad then talk to your doc to give you 1mg in the morning and .5 at night. Thats how I use and it works for me.

Im sorry ...I meant .5mg not 5. My doc said just as needed I really didnt know if it was ok or not to take one in the morning and one in the evening....just didnt want to over do it seeing this is only going on my almost 3rd week but ive only taken it a select number of times sooo im hoping it helps with the panic attacks.

Klonopin should never brake the 2mgs a day barrier because after that it will cause worse withdraw.
But you said your taking them at a as needed basis?
The proper way for klonopin to work is to take it twice a day "usually about 12 hours apart" to build a steady state in a persons plasma.
This PREVENTS anxiety, thats the difference between Klonopin an other benzos like Xanax.
and there better for you.
So Id suggest to cut it down to 1mg, .5 in the morning, .5 in the evening. give it 2 weeks because it can take up to 2 weeks for therapeutic levels to build up.

Those are way high doses if ur talking about klonopin.  1-2 mg is considered high dose. Only people who are extremely sick take more and it can be dangerous. But I guess ur doc knows better....
