how to get rid of anxiety eye symptoms?

Hi all,

I got really sick everywhere in my body around 2 months ago, including the nausea, vomoting, vision issues, twitching, etc.... done all the tests, etc... & finally, drs say that I have nothing & said that it could be anxiety.

Since then, I started to watch myself & realised that yes its anxiety as I somehow have control over the symptoms & that if I get my mind off it somehow they seem to even stop midway or disappear gradually.

I had a challange to try to totally ignore my symptoms & try to relax & get my head off it...it all seemed hard in early stages but somehow I got better at ignoring the symptoms, BUT my only issue is my vision symptoms that are CONSTANT reminders to me that I'm still sick!!!

I got halos & rays around lights at night & I've became sensitive to light after my sickness, I would be perfectly not thinking of my illness but once I look at any light at night I start thinking about it again!!!

I understand that there are zillions of medications for anxiety out there but my question is does anyone know of anything that could fix anxiety vision related symptoms?

I could overcome almost all other symptoms & I'm actually becoming a lot more active & positive thinking than before but my vision symptoms are my constant reminder of my sickness & if they can go then I'm sure I'll be back to normal again.

any advise anyone?

Interested in how you are doing with this.

This is really a long shot, but one of the symtoms of Lyme Disease is sensitivity to light.
Have you ever been tested for Lyme?

I have had many of the same problems as you ahve with the eye and i am beginning to think it has to do with anxiety. It always feels swollen, images are distorted, constant headache. I have been to many eye drs who have given me the clear. Any thoughts?

I commend you on trying to counteract the anxiety by yourself and that it's making you a more positive, productive person.  But your vision issues apparently need more treatment and that is where the meds may come in handy.

I've tried to struggle through attacks in the past, but in the end you have to realize (and you said it many times in your post) it is a sickness and when you're physically sick, you take medication, right? Well, since this is a sickness, I think you could benefit from some klonopin which is a very light valium-type med that just relaxes you. I also think it would help with your vision as it appearss this is your constant symptom.

Best of mental (and physical) health to you............
