not feeling well :(

Ok, here is my story....I havent been feeling well for quite a while!  I had been with the same doc for quite sometime and he would never test me for anything, just once for bloodwork which came back normal.  So i switched doctors and took a list of all my side effects with me.  She looked at the list and said I believe its anxiety!  Its hard for me to accept without doing any other testing!!  Today, I have felt a little shaky, nauseaus, back ache and just not right feeling!  What do I do????  Do I just keep dealing with it or do I go to the ER???  Im just afraid that there is something wrong with my health but I dont know maybe it is my anxiety making me think like that??  I would really appreciate some good advice!!!!!!  Im sick of being miserable!!

Mjohnston, your very welcome. What day do you start seeing the therapist?

When you first start an antidepressant it can cause side effects likes nausea and feeling light headed. These should get better in a few days.
Ramble away. That's what we're here for is to support you.
It's up to you of course to take the meds or not. The best thing to do though is take the prescribed dose everyday so it can build up in your system. If half a dose to start off with is more comfortable for you, then maybe try that for a week or so and then build up to 10 mgs.
Have you thought about talking to your Dr about an anti anxiety med?

Ive been feeling awful here lately!  I wake up feeling anxious!  Then as the day goes on I will be alright for a minute then I will feel like I am on edge an just anxious!  I've noticed that I kinda feel nauseous an at time an unsteady/lightheadish feeling.  I just can't stand it!  I'm always afraid something is wrong with my health or I'm gonna pass out.  I tried 1/2 of my celexa on Monday then didn't take any Tuesday an haven't yet today, I don't know whether to start taking it or wait an see if I get to feeling better.  I just don't know how to tell if I'm sick or if it's anxiety?! Sorry I don't mean to ramble but thanks for any advice!!

Mjohnston, many of us that have anxiety and or depression also have that unbalanced feeling. I have it myself sometimes and I do not have a brain tumor. I know exactly the feeling your taking about and it can be very scary when it happens. I find I get it worse when my anxiety is really high. Just wanted to let you know that your not alone. Of course it's always a good idea to see your Dr for a check up to make sure your not having any ear or sinus problems which can cause the unbalanced feeling.   Remar

Birdie0907, I was talking about antidepressants in general, not just Celexa. I've been on many and some have started working within a few days where others have taken a few weeks. I'm really happy to heat the Celexa worked for you. But sorry to hear your having problems again. Antidepressants are a strange kind of med. Some you do great on and others you don't. Some you can stop and go back on them later to have them work the same way while others may not work the same way. I so hope that you get your depression and anxiety under control again. I'm always here to listen.   Remar

I don't know anything brain tumurs, but that unbalanced feeling you mentioned on Dec 12 does sound like something you should talk to your doc about. Maybe it is Vertigo, so you might want to see if there is a Vertigo forum until you get to the doc for the proper diagnosis.

You can start taking them when you wake up tomorrow and in future. Most people do that as it speeds them up, although some people have a slowed down reaction.
I got my prescription at 4PM last Wed and started then because the pharmacist said it was ok to go to 8AM the next day, as long as I kept it constant after that. I don't think you will hve much positive effect on 5s though, so count on a week minimum from when you start 10s.

I heard that 1 week is the minimum for Celexa to start, not a few days. I took 3 10s last week, then started 20s on Sat but am not expecting an effect until the weekend because my previous dosage  was 20s.
I took it 4 years ago for 9 months and had a great success pushing dep and anxiety down and out of the way, but new problems have surfaced that I just can't get a handle on so I am trying my hand at Celexa again. I need a break so I can remember what it is like to be happy again then will go off it again, if all goes according to plan..

I took half the doSe because the pharmacist said I could do this so hopefully the side effects would be less.  I do realize it will take a while for them to kick in tho.  So far I've done ok, I took it at 230 an I've had a little bit of headache an little different feeling.  I'm trying not to dwell on it because I've been pretty anxious all day!  I had to start somewhere so that is what I did! What mess are you on?  Did you have lots of side effects?

Taking half of your prescribed dose will do nothing. Even if it were to take your whole dose it would do nothing right away. You need to take the whole dose every day. It can take an antidepressant a few days to a few weeks to build up in your system. The Celexa should and hopefully, gradually start working to help your anxiety. We all want these meds to work super fast but they don't. If your having attacks that bad you might want to ask your Dr about a fast acting benzo to take just until your Celexa kicks in. She might prescribe just a few for you. After the Celexa starts working you should not need them any more. Only take them on an as needed basis, when your having a panic attack, because you can become addicted to them if you start taking them several times a day every day. I'm only recommending this because I've suffered with anxiety for many years myself and I know what it's like to wait for the antidepressant to kick in. I hope you feel better soon.

Why do you want a CT scan? You said you don't like taking meds, so does that mean you did try them?
