I have had pain in my left hipHip joint replacement Hip pain/buttock area for the last 4 to 5 year off and on. It radiates to the outer hipHip joint replacement Hip pain and hurts at the base of my hipHip joint replacement Hip pain/butt. I feel as though I could take a needle and stab it in my hipHip joint replacement Hip pain and it would feel better. My left hipHip joint replacement Hip pain always pops really loud and people that can hear it are amazed. It has gotten worse since I had my son two and a half years ago. It starts out with the urgeUrge incontinence to pop my left hip and sometimes when I can't pop it, it hurts to extend my left outward/inward and especially to strech my left leg forward and turn my right leg inward toward my left leg (I place my leg straight out in front of me with my foot parallel to my hips) I cannot sleep on my left side due to this aggrevating pain. I sleep with a pillow between my knees every night and it seems to help some, but really doesn't get better. I am a very active person. I never sit to rest or relax as I am always cleaning or chasing a two year old. I usually tend to overdo it on yardwork or picking up something heavy. I had spinal fusion surgery in high school for scoliosis. My lower back bothers me at times, but it not unbearable. I recently went to an orthopedist and he observed everything from leg lengths to my spine, activities and says I would just have to "live with it" due to having scoliosis. I am not living with that answer. I want to know what is wrong with me. I am a twenty five year old, healthy woman and should not be in this much pain nor have to sleep on one side. The doctor told me that I just need to take NSAIDs, but I have a bad stomach as it is and can't take many without my stomach aching. I have been to physical therapist, chiropractors and massage therapists which have all given me different diagnosis. The physical therapist says my muscles are just weak around my hip/back area, the chiropractor says it was from having/carrying my son and the joints didn't close properly, and the massage therapists says it's overworked muscles. I had a bone scan before I had gotten pregnant which revealed I had an elevated sedimentation rate. My primary doctor says it was much to worry about, but it tells me that something is always inflammed right? I haven't had an MRI. I had done some research on hip bursitis and it relates to me in some ways because people who have leg discrepancies, scoliosis, or overwork themselves. I am scheduled to see a hip specialist next week but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas that it could be. My curve is still around 18 - 23 degrees in my spine, so I am still off balance. My muscles in lower back on left side is higher than right side and vice versa at my shoulders. Another thing to note is the doctor told me that my left leg is about an inch bigger than my right leg. Not sure if that is from scoliosis or not, but my left leg has always bothered me with an aching pain. I don't believe it is my sciatia nerve. Nor did the doctor. My left leg is always hotter than my right foot. Very strange, I know, but a physical therapist told me that it could be due to scoliosis. Any suggestions?
You definitely have quite a history there. Plenty to cause pain. I suffer with hip bursitis periodically and can relate to difficulties sleeping as a result of hip pain. If it is bursitis, a cortisone shot in the hip should do the trick. You should ask your doctor about it.
