I have been seen by the nuerologist (series of blood and urine testing which has not come back yet) and yesterday had an EMG. This doctor gave preliminary opinion that I do not have ALS (Thank God!) but still wants to examine all results when he receives them. He also thinks I should see rheumatologist ASAP.
I am still waiting for an appt. with rheumatologist.
I am wondering what diseases could be indicated as possible by the high rheumatoid factor?
I am glad it does not look like you have ALS as I am sure that takes a lot off your mind. Yet, you are in pain and suffering while awaiting a dx and treatment plan. I can tell you that a high rheumatoid factor can be associated with several conditions but is most frequently associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Getting in to see a rheumatologist is the right thing to do. Please let us know what you find out. How long until your appt?
