Hi there!

Pentids is not a pain killer; it is an antibiotic that is prescribed for long term to prevent conditions such as carditis and valvular heart disease, that could develop as complication secondary to inflammation with rheumatic fever. It is advised to take the medication as prescribed by your doctor. The benefit of taking the medication far exceeds the mild side effects it may have.
Hope this information is helpful.

Take care!
