Birth Control Pills

Hey :)

I started taking the birth control pills. I took them for 10 days, but I started to feel really dizzy and sick so stopped taken them. My last one that I took was Sunday night and it's now Wednesday. The night after I stopped taking the pill, I started to bleed dark blood. It's not my period because I took my first pill on the day of my period and my period stopped completely about the 5th day, perfectly normal when I'm not on the pill as well. At first I thought it was just coming off the pill that had caused the blood, but I just went to the toilet and there's still brown blood there and sorry to be gross but it doesn't smell that great either! I also had a really sore breast after I stopped taking them, I still feel sick and am getting stomach cramps, can anyone help me and tell me whether this is just because I stopped the pill? I tried to find some answers on google but nothing really came up. Is it unusual to bleed when you stop taking the pill because it's definately not my period as that ended about 7/8 days ago. You don't think It could be a sign of pregnancy?? As we we did have unprotected sex just before I went on the pill.

Any advice would be great! :)

HI and thanks for using the forum.

First, take a pregnancy test to be sure that you are not pregnant.

It is not uncommon to bleed when you stop taking the pill.  It is also not uncommon to have sore breasts and other symptoms as well since your hormones are fluctuating.  You need to get in touch with your ob/gyn.  It can take your body a few cycles to adjust to being on birth control.  Let your ob/gyn know about your symptoms and he or she can either recommend a different pill for you, tell you to continue taking the pill, or offer you another form of birth control.  IN the meantime, remember that you are not protected from pregnancy since you have not taken your pill every day, so don't take any chances.  USe another form of birth control.  Good luck.
