Acute Costochondritis Pain

My 14 year old daughter has been diagnosed with Costochondritis & is having severe bouts of pain every 30 minutes or so.  She has been prescribed Ibuprofen & co-codamol (prescription strength 30-500).  Unfortunately this does not seem to be helping in the slightest.  Is there any other treatments available for this debilitating condition?  She has always been very active and is a National sports participator.  Help!

From what I read, this condition is generally considered temporary and will resolve with time, unless it is associated with fibromyalgia. Perhaps your doctor can give a stronger pain medication (ex. More codeine). Here we call them Tylenol 3. Also a prescription antiflammatory is can be helpful, till more healing has taken place.
