HELP HELP HELP!

I have severe pain on the lower right side of my abdomen. The pain worsens when I eat any bread products and or milk products.  I have been to the OB-GYn,  pelvic US last tuesday. Still no news.  So I made an appt to see a Gastroenterologist on the 26th.  I have removed all gluten from my diet for 2 weeks now and I have just removed milk this week.  The pain continues and I get feverish at times.   My next step is the ER!  I have notice that pre gluten milk free diet, I would be have very lose and pale yellow bowel movements. Now they are regular but the pain continues. I am very afraid.  I have done research and I know there is a possibility that I may have Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis.  At this point I have ruled out an appendicitis.

For the last 6 years I have been anemic and no doctor has been able to find the source.   Also, for about a week in August, I had very lose bloody bowel movements following a week of constipation.

If anyone has any ideas or advice, it will be welcomed !!!!!!

Trinity, if you've cut out diary and gluten and you want to be tested by a GI person, do it soon. To be really sure if your celiac you have to be eating gluten for quite awhile to make sure they'll see something on the tests - sorry to say.

You should ask for a colonoscopy at the very least.

If it is celiac, you may have to be off of gluten (and possibly cross-reacting to dairy (casein) for awhile for all the pain to disappear. It's not going to be overnight. Most people find that it takes over 4 weeks to really feel some major changes when they're gluten-free.

I have had celiac disease for 6 years now and I went threw the pain on the lower right side for a long time, they put me threw a bunch of tests. that all came out showing nothing. My doctor thought that it could be my intestine swelling from all the gluten that I ingested. The pain was intense but after a month of strict gluten free diet and milk free diet The pain subsided. I still get it every now and then and its from accidental cross contamination from ingesting gluten. Get tested for celiac disease to at least rule it out. and go from there. I was also severly anemic, But my Gasro DR put me on 150mg of iron pills that were gluten free. It took along time to get my iron levels at a satisfactory level. and now I dont need them. Get Checked, cuz undiagonsed celiac disease isnt good. Good luck to you. I hoped that I helped some.

That pain in your lower right quadrant can be referred pain from your gallbladder. You need an ultrasound on your gallbladder and blood panels on your enzyme levels. I have had the same pain for years and was told everything was ok until recently. I have sludge in my gallbladder that slows down the digestion of certain foods and mimics alot of conditions. For now, avoid lettuce, rice, and potatos (starches) and see if that helps the pain. The stools are a result of the gallbladder not properly secreting the enzymes to digest the foods. Avoid fats like dairy and animal fats, use olive oils and eat fish instead of animal protiens.

Good luck!
